ASBESTOS PROJECTS - Owners are responsible to ensure their contractors are aware there is asbestos within the Hillside Estates building.
General Duties
  1. All contractual work within the building should be assessed and a job specific hazard assessment conducted to identify those tasks which may pose an asbestos exposure issue.
  2. Any planned renovations or repairs should undergo an asbestos impact review process prior to commencement.
  3. Any emergency response work must acknowledge the presence and extent of asbestos in the impacted areas.
  4. All asbestos abatement projects must be conducted in accordance with provincial legislation the Alberta Asbestos Abatement Manual and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Code and Regulation.
Possible Asbestos in Hillside Estates, including but is not limited to the following:
  1. Drywall joint compound
  2. Vinyl asbestos floor tiles
  3. Linoleum sheet flooring
  4. Mechanical canvas insulation on duct work
  5. Pipe elbows, flanges, vitolics, constrictions
  6. Wall and ceiling texture
  7. Bell and spigot drain pipe gaskets 
  8. Fire stop and pipe/wall pass through
  9. Vermiculite insulation
  10. Suspended ceiling tiles
  11. Spray on fire proofing.

REMINDER;  Prior written board approval is required as per the bylaws for any structural alterations.
